Description & Credits

Roosa - a digital ghost
Roosa appears when someone enters her home, the staircase to the attic. Roosa can be playful or sad, scary or scared, depending on her mood. When left alone, Roosa dances by herself.

~

[ in other words: A piece of custom-made software
observes the movement in the staircase and controls
the activity of the ghost. The ghost consists of an
endless combination of short video clips and a
constantly changing, ambient soundtrack.
Extra attention was given to the real-time image
processing to make the video image appear more
ephemeral and to merge changing video clips smoothly
together. ]

Roosa is a project commissioned by private collector Antti Piippo. Roosa currently lives in his apartment in Helsinki.
