SOTAMAA
SOTAMAA is an international, award winning collaborative architecture and design practice of Kivi Sotamaa and Tuuli Sotamaa, brother & sister, architect & designer. The heart of the office lies in the intersection of urban culture, passion for design and digital technology. SOTAMAA combines the poetic Finnish tradition of ‘organic modernism’ spearheaded Alvar Aalto and Tapio Wirkkala with unique contemporary digital design sensibility. The office undertakes projects that range in scale from bridges and buildings to furniture and industrial products.
SOTAMAA’s creative work is widely published and exhibited. It has been exhibited by MoMA, the Wexner Centre for the Arts, Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art, Fondazione Trussardi and the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art Kanazawa. Publications featuring work include the New York Times, Phaidon’s 10×10 Architects [1&2], New Scandinavian Design, Forum Sweden, AD, Praxis, Kenhiku Bunka, L’Arca and Domus.
